A doll story in 17 episodes.

Saturday, March 2, 19h30

Em Valentine, journalist at the Whitherville Daily, is on her way to her best friend Billie McGovern, dance instructor at Move It and younger sister of detective Nat McGovern. Billie lives with her parents. The best-selling authors are away on a tour to promote their latest co-written crime novel. The girls have planned a movie night with pizza while they babysit Nat's 4 year old daughter Meggie.

Em has pulled over in a desolate part of the village. She wants to call Billie to ask if she can order the food. Suddenly she hears footsteps on the other side of the wall. A man is making a phone call, he has a loud, deep voice. He sounds agitated and Em waits quietly. She smells cigar smoke. The smoke tickles her nostrils. She tries very hard not to sneeze.

Man, on the phone: "Yes, I stashed everything away for now ...Yes ... The loot is safe, nobody will find the painting or the jewelry. We wait until things cool down." ...
"No! No moves yet!" ... "No, just stay put, don't panic, I'll contact you soon! Bye!"

Em doesn't know what to do. Obviously this is the man who robbed the LaSalles, and Em doesn't want to be caught eavesdropping.

Suddenly the loud ringtone of her cellphone resonates through the air! The man curses. Em jumps on her Vespa as fast as she can, puts on her helmet and starts the motor.

The man tries to grab Em, but misses while she drives away.

__________

20h30, Billie's home

The girls have eaten the pizzas and are about to watch a movie in Billie's room. Meggie is sleeping in the room next to Billie's.

Billie: "I want to make it up to you for my very inconvenient phone call earlier! Here, you choose the film. I rented some old ones, Dawn Of The Dead, Psycho and How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days."

Em, laughing: "The last one is the only one I want to watch right now! I'm still a bit shaky! Man, I was scared! He almost grabbed me!"

Em, serious again: "Billie, what if he saw my face, knows who I am? What if I'm in danger? I didn't see his face, but he might think I did!"

Billie: "This guy may very well be more scared than you! Besides, you wore your helmet, so chances are small that he saw your face. Come on, relax a bit, let's watch the movie!"

__________

00u45, behind the wall

Nat picked up her sleepy little girl earlier. Em told her what happened so that Nat and Marc are informed about the phone call of the burglar with his accomplice. Billie and Em decided to go back to the spot where the burglar was making his phone call to search for clues.

Billie: "Aim the flashlight of your cellphone to this spot Em, I see something!" She picks up the object with a leaf and drops it in the palm of her hand.

Billie: "It's a cigar butt! It could be from the burglar! Let's bag it so Nat can get it tested on DNA."

Em carefully puts the cigar butt in a small plastic bag, making sure she doesn't touch the tip.

Billie: "Come on, let's go back home! It's creepy out here."

The girls drive away.

  1. i love it!! the burglar's face can't be seen with the hood, so we all will be wondering who he can be, at least until next chapter. :) em was caught listening to that phone call, and the man obviously wanted no witnesses. thankfully she was safe at home a few minutes later.
i can't wait for next chapter. we'll see what the analysis of the cigarette reveals...

    1. Hello Chema, Em was very lucky to escape and that nothing bad happened to her wasn't she! Being at the wrong place at the wrong time is dangerous :-). I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter!

    1. Hello Nana, thank you very much :-). It's really different to make a story with dolls, in English :-). But I'm enjoying it even better than I thought I would. I'm glad you like the photos!
I'm not a photographer, so I know not much about it. Time-lapse photography must take a whole lot of time for a few seconds of film. Have you ever made something like that?

Myślę, że to wymaga dużo czasu i pracy, aby takie filmy zbyt, istnieje tak wiele ramek umieścić razem w jeden film!

  11. It was lucky Em was wearing the helmet! My thoughts were the same as hers', what if the guy had seen her face, although he might have got her number plate on her Vespa.

I really love the lighting on those final three photos, dark and moody and a little bit creepy. Excellent posing and scenes.
