Claire's new telephone

As I mentioned in this post, Kamelia sent me a vintage pencil sharpener in the form of an antique telephone, along with the jeans for Em. Claire, my CED doll, is thrilled and loves her new telephone!

"Hello, Kamelia? Hello? Thank you for sending me a telephone!"

__________

Portrait Claire, 50 cm (ca. 19.5") tall, is made by Doug James (JDJ International).
This doll is based on the painting "Madame X" (1884) by John Singer Sargent.
She belongs to the CED doll line, which is retired unfortunately.

The real "Madame X", who's name was Madame Virginie Gautreau, is portrayed by other artists as well. She must have been a fascinating woman!
Doug James did a wonderful job on this doll.
You're probably right about young people not knowing it's a phone hahaha!

    1. Hello Chema, such old phones are great accessories in the house :-). I had one that worked as well, the "ring ring ring" sound was awesome :-).
Claire is determined to use the phone a lot, so it's very much possible that a bunch of friends will be invited ;-D!

  18. Millicent the phone is fantastic. I always love looking at pencil sharpeners because often they are great for 1:12 too. Your doll is so beautiful and her lace and fan are magnificent. When I read your posts I'm so tempted by 1:6 scale. :)

    1. Hello Sam, I'm glad you like Claire :-). Actually, when I read your latest post, I was again tempted by 1:12 scale :-). I say again, because it is a returning wish of me to own a beautiful dollhouse filled with lovely 1:12 books, furniture, and even dolls. One day I'm going to start! There's so much choice in awesome things, like that chair you showed with the horns, that's so cool!
